Silver Crescent Manufacturers of the Year Announced

CHARLESTON, SC – September 22, 2010 – The 2010 Silver CrescentManufacturers of the Year were announced at the Salute to Manufacturing,South Carolina’s premier manufacturing recognition event honoring thestate’s top small, medium and large manufacturing companies for theirmanufacturing excellence, economic impact, commitment to workforcedevelopment and community stewardship.
The Small Manufacturer of the Year (199 or less employees) is Caterpillar, Precision Pin Products Group, located in Sumter.
The Medium Manufacturer of the Year (200-499 employees) is Bosch Rexroth Corporation, located in Fountain Inn.
The Large Manufacturer of the Year (500 or more employees) is Force Protection Inc., located in Ladson.

The Salute to Manufacturing also featured renowned author, GusWhalen, whose recent book, Hooked at the Roots, is in its secondprinting. Whalen’s passion is education, manufacturing and philanthropy,which he believes have worked together to help strengthen communitiesacross America. He is the author of four books, including TheFeatherbone Principle, The Featherbone Spirit, The Gift of Renewal andHooked at the Roots, The Evolution of Featherbone Communiversity.
Silver Crescent Manufacturer of the Year selections were based uponquality improvement efforts, quality of life programs, improvements inthe environment, involvement in local community and economicdevelopment, education and workforce development and overalleffectiveness.
