Silverton Mortgage adds Tony Thompson to lead national growth

ATLANTA, GA – Silverton Mortgage Specialists, Inc. announces the addition of Tony Thompson as vice president of Growth and Strategy. Thompson oversees company-wide business development efforts both within its existing markets across 13 states and Washington, D.C., and is charged with leading Silverton Mortgage’s expansion into new markets across the country. Thompson brings more than 10 years of leadership experience with top national banks and mortgage lenders.

Prior to joining Silverton Mortgage, Thompson held various leadership roles at large national banks and mortgage lenders, overseeing the development and execution of growth strategies. Most recently, he served as senior vice president at Guaranteed Rate Mortgage, presiding over expansion efforts throughout the Southeast.
Thompson’s addition in this new role for Silverton Mortgage immediately follows several years of nationwide growth for the company. During the past two years, Silverton Mortgage has opened a branch location in North Carolina and obtained lender licenses in Colorado, Delaware, Illinois, Louisiana, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Washington, D.C. The company was included in the Inc. Magazine 5000 list of the fastest growing private companies each year from 2011 to 2014, ranking in the top 20 mortgage companies in the nation in 2014.
Thompson earned his undergraduate degree from South Carolina State University, his master of business administration from Webster University and his masters of science from Pfeiffer University.
