Simpsonville Police Department Introduces “Major Fuzz” to Lead Community Engagement Efforts

The Simpsonville Police Department has officially welcomed its newest officer to the force: Major Fuzz, a plush canine mascot joining the department’s Community Engagement Division.

Major Fuzz will serve as the ambassador for local public safety education, visiting schools, hosting community meet-and-greets, and appearing at future neighborhood events throughout Simpsonville.

The addition of Major Fuzz was made possible through the National Child Safety Council’s #SafetyPup program, an initiative designed to provide law enforcement agencies with engaging educational tools to teach children about personal safety, drug prevention, and emergency preparedness.

Local businesses and civic organizations stepped up to sponsor the program, funding the mascot and its accompanying educational materials. The department extended special thanks to the following community partners:
