April 7, 2025Sistercare’s 3rd Annual EmpoweRun 5k Walk and Run
Sistercare and Jamie Scott Fitness are joining together to host the 3rd annual EmpoweRun 5k walk and run to benefit Sistercare’s ongoing efforts to support survivors of domestic violence and their children. All funds raised from the event will go directly to Sistercare.
When: Saturday, April 5 | race begins at 8am, with onsite registration starting at 7am (rain or shine)
What: EmpoweRun 5k run or walk and one-mile fun run for kids
Where: Start and finish is at Jamie Scott Fitness located in Cross Hill Market at 702 Cross Hill Road in Columbia. The race winds through the beautiful Lake Katherine and Kilbourne Park neighborhoods. Junior League will provide volunteers to cheer you on every step of the way!
Post-race: Family-Friendly Block Party at Jamie Scott Fitness with coffee, prizes, DJ, games, Ally & Eloise Bakeshop, and the Richland County Sheriff’s Department Community Action Team!
Who: all ages + all levels + dog/stroller-friendly
COST + REGISTRATION: 5k Walk/Run: Entry is $30 until 4.1.2025. After this date, the fee will increase to $35. One mile fun run for kids: $10 per entry. Register at www.strictlyrunning.com.
RACE PRIZES: Gift certificates + swag from Trenholm Plaza + Cross Hill Plaza retailers.

Sistercare
Sistercare is a United Way partner agency serving thousands of domestic violence survivors and their children annually in Richland, Lexington, Kershaw, Fairfield, and Newberry counties. The nonprofit provides emergency shelter, a 24/7 service line, counseling for survivors and their children, legal advocacy, transitional housing, rural services, teen outreach, and community education and awareness programs.
