Six Burnette Shutt & McDaniel attorneys included in Legal Elite

August 3, 2020

Six attorneys at Shutt Burnette & McDaniel are listed in the newest edition of “Legal Elite of the Midlands,” an annual guide that honors the region’s top attorneys.

This year’s honorees:

• M. Malissa Burnette, labor and employment law
• Nekki Shutt, labor and employment law
• Kathleen McDaniel, environmental law, and business litigation
• Janet Rhodes, labor and employment law
• Jack Cohoon, labor and employment law
• Amanda Mueller, family law

The six lawyers included in the 2020 edition is a record showing for the firm, which has a long history of inclusion in the publication. McDaniel has been listed in every edition since 2011 “Legal Elite.” She’s also one of the few attorneys each year to be honored in more than one practice area.

“We’re pleased, not only to see so many of our attorneys recognized, but also to see the honors across a range of practice areas,” firm co-founder M. Malissa Burnette said. “It’s truly gratifying to know that our colleagues here in the Midlands hold us in such high esteem.”

A publication of Columbia Business Monthly, Legal Elite honors the region’s Top 10 lawyers in 20 practice areas. Selection begins with a nomination from a peer. A poll of the active lawyers in the Midlands decides the final lists of Top 10 attorneys across more than 20 practice areas.
