SJWD Water District announces promotion of Corey Bennett to Director of Engineering and Operations
July 20, 2026Startex-Jackson-Wellford-Duncan Water District (SJWD) announced the promotion of Corey Bennett to Director of Engineering and Operations.
In his new role, Bennett will lead the district’s engineering efforts, including infrastructure planning, distribution system initiatives, and projects that support the continued delivery of reliable, high-quality water service to SJWD customers.
“Corey’s promotion reflects the confidence we have in his leadership, professional expertise, and commitment to the mission of SJWD Water District,” said Bobby Walden, SJWD Chief Operating Officer. “We are proud to recognize his contributions and look forward to his continued service in this important leadership role.”
Bennett brings a decade of experience with SJWD to his new role. He began his time with the district as an intern while pursuing his civil engineering degree and later joined full-time in January 2020. Over the years, he has contributed to the district’s continued growth and long-term planning efforts, helping support infrastructure improvements and dependable service for the community.
Bennett holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Limestone University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of South Carolina.
