Skinner Named Executive Director at Life Care Center of Columbia

January 29, 2015

COLUMBIA, SC – Life Care Center of Columbia, a skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility, is welcoming a new executive director, Tina Skinner.

“Tina is an RN who brings a strong clinical background to our residents,” said Bill Coury, vice president of Life Care Centers of America’s Blue Ridge Region, which oversees the Columbia facility and seven others in the region. “We look forward to an exciting 2015 in Columbia under her leadership.”

Skinner served as interim executive director at Life Care Center of Columbia for two months before becoming executive director. Prior to that appointment, she was a transition nurse with Pruitt Health and has been working in the nursing profession since 2003.

“I like working with the elderly,” said Skinner. “In the stories they tell, they have so much to share.”

Originally from Sumter, South Carolina, Skinner earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing at the University of Phoenix and her master’s degree in business administration at South University in Columbia. She has two children.

“I enjoy being able to impact the lives of residents and family members and provide them with good health care,” said Skinner.

Life Care Center of Columbia, located at 2514 Faraway Drive, is one of three skilled nursing facilities in South Carolina operated or managed by Life Care Centers of America.
