Smith Moore Leatherwood’s Brenda Stewart Appointed to South Carolina Commission on Lawyer Conduct

GREENVILLE, SC – November 5, 2010 –  Brenda Stewart, director of marketing and client services for Smith Moore Leatherwood LLP, has been chosen to serve on the South Carolina Commission on Lawyer Conduct.

Stewart will be one of 16 members of the general public to serve on the Commission board. The 50 member board also includes 34 attorneys admitted to practice law in South Carolina. The purpose of the Commission, created in response to the adoption of South Carolina Appellate Court Rule 413, is to investigate complaints of lawyer misconduct and incapacity made against lawyers who are licensed to practice law in
South Carolina.

Stewart has worked with Smith Moore Leatherwood for over 18 years. In addition to her work with the firm, she is a member of the South Carolina Association of Legal Administrators and the Legal Marketing Association.
