Smith Moore Leatherwood Adds Two to Charleston Office Corporate Team

Addition makes three new hires in two months

CHARLESTON, SC – February 15, 2012 – Smith Moore Leatherwood LLP is proud to announce the addition of two new attorneys to the firm’s Charleston office Corporate Team.

G.P. Diminich has joined the firm as a partner and Halsey O. Schreier has joined the firm as an associate, each having tax degrees from the New York University School of Law along a wealth of experience in tax and estate planning.  The new hires come two months after Michael J. Hickerson joined the Corporate Team in the Charleston office, which opened in April 2011.

Bocconi; and his LL.M. in Taxation from the New York University School of Law. His practice covers the areas of taxation, mergers and acquisitions, corporations, partnerships, limited liability companies, business litigation, estate planning and probate administration, probate and estate litigation, banking, tax controversy, real estate planning, state and local taxation, and business incentives.

Diminich is a Certified Specialist in Taxation Law and a Certified Specialist in Estate Planning and Probate Law, distinctions awarded by the Supreme Court of South Carolina, as well as a S.C. Certified Circuit Court Mediator. Locally, Diminich is a member of the Charleston Estate Planning Council; the Charleston Tax Council (past president); the Charleston Tax Roundtable; the East Cooper Rotary Breakfast Club; the Daniel Island Business Association; and the Trident United Way’s Community Investment Review Team. He serves on the Board of Directors for the ALS Association, South Carolina Chapter, Inc.; is a former Board member of the Charleston Stage Company; and is a member of the Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Charleston, Class of 2009.

Schreier frequently lectures at seminars for attorneys, financial planners, CPAs, and other professionals on a number of topics including estate planning, trust and probate administration, limited liability companies, S-Corporations and various taxation topics.Locally, Schreier is a member of the Charleston Tax Council; the Charleston Tax Roundtable; the Rotary Club of Daniel Island; and Charleston Young Professionals.  He also serves on the Board of Trustees of the Charleston Stage Company.
