Smith Moore Leatherwood Attorney Steve Farrar Appointed To Lawyers For Civil Justice Board Of Directors

GREENVILLE, SC – Smith Moore Leatherwood Partner Steve Farrar has been appointed to the Lawyers for Civil Justice (LCJ) Board of Directors, a national organization of defense lawyers and corporate counsel dedicated to fairness and improvements within the civil justice system.

LCJ is a national coalition of defense trial lawyer organizations, law firms, and corporations that promotes excellence and fairness in the civil justice system to secure the just, speedy and inexpensive determination of civil cases.The purpose of the organization is to develop a network of broad, national support for ongoing legal reform initiatives. By tapping into the resources of the defense bar organizations, and the more than 20,000 legal practitioners that they represent, LCJ provides crucial support for ongoing legislative and procedural rules initiatives.

Farrar is a trial lawyer and partner in the firm’s Greenville office. His practice focuses on complex legal issues, including complicated business litigation, professional liability defense and major products liability issues. Farrar is Secretary-Treasurer of the Federation of Defense and Corporate Counsel (FDCC) and will serve as President of the Federation in 2015. He is named to the “Top 10” list of 2014 South Carolina Super Lawyers® and was named in Woodward/White’s 2010 listing of the Best Lawyers in America in four practice areas including “Bet The Company Litigation.” He is a graduate of the University of Virginia and the University of Richmond School of Law.
