Greenville Chamber program enhances leadership skills and community involvement

GREENVILLE, SC –  Smith Moore Leatherwood attorney Trey Ingram was selected to join the Leadership Greenville Class 41, a program of the Greenville Chamber. Ingram joins 56 other program participants who represent a broad cross-section of leaders in the business community.

Leadership Greenville is a program designed and facilitated by the Greenville Chamber to help develop informed, committed and qualified leaders for Greenville County. By taking an intensive look into the issues affecting Greenville County, Leadership Greenville prepares and motivates participants to provide quality, dynamic leadership within the area. Since the program began in 1973, there have been approximately 1800 participants. Leadership Greenville requires a 10-month commitment. Participants are selected through an application process based upon their past involvement in the community and their ability to set and achieve high personal goals. Each class selects a project or projects to meet a need in the area. Class Projects are chosen based on proposals submitted by class members, as well as nonprofit Chamber-member organizations.

Ingram focuses his practice of law on commercial real estate, primarily representing developers, lenders and owners with legal needs related to the acquisition, construction, zoning, financing, leasing and sale of real property. Trey also represents property management companies and owners associations confronting legal issues involving commercial and residential lease agreements, eviction matters, restrictive covenants and bylaws. Trey further devotes a portion of his practice to South Carolina adoption law, including: representing adoptive parents seeking to finalize domestic and intercountry adoptions, and advocating for the constitutional rights of both natural parents and adoptive parents in contested adoption cases in the Family Court.

Ingram received his bachelor’s degree, summa cum laude, from Charleston Southern University and received his juris doctor, cum laude, from the University of South Carolina School of Law.
