Smith Robinson’s H. Thomas Morgan, Jr., named Interim Georgetown County Attorney

Smith Robinson Holler DuBose and Morgan, LLC, announced that attorney H. Thomas Morgan, Jr., has recently been named the Interim Georgetown County Attorney. In this capacity, Mr. Morgan will provide general counsel advice to the Georgetown County Administrator and Georgetown County Council, advise County departments as to day-to-day legal issues, coordinate defense of the County in various civil suits, and work with County administration and staff to address pending legal issues.

Mr. Morgan is a founding partner of Smith Robinson. In addition to his role as Interim Georgetown County Attorney, Mr. Morgan also serves as the Fairfield County Attorney and the Assistant Kershaw County Attorney. He has extensive experience in all aspects of governmental law. He provides legal advice to other governmental institutions and has represented multiple counties, municipalities, and special purpose districts. Mr. Morgan earned his Juris Doctor from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 2006. He earned his Master of Arts in Public Administration from Webster University in 2002 and his Bachelor of Science degree from Regents College in 1999.

Prior to the Smith Robinson merger, Tommy practiced at DuBose Robinson Morgan, PC, for nine years. Before entering private practice, Tommy clerked as a Staff Attorney at the South Carolina Supreme Court. Prior to law school, Tommy served in the United States Army, Military Intelligence Branch, where he received numerous awards for his service, including a Joint Service Commendation Medal and Global War on Terrorism Medal. He is a member of the South Carolina Bar.
