Snelling Staffing Services of the Midlands
August 7, 2009Connecting people and businesses – is what Snelling Staffing Services is all about. Snelling Staffing Services has been a family- owned business in the Midlands since 1982. Guided for years by Gina McCuen, the mantle of leadership has recently fallen on the capable shoulders of its new President, Elizabeth Trenbeath, Gina’s daughter. Elizabeth is a Lexington High School graduate. After graduating in 1995 from the University of South Carolina, she joined her mother for a few weeks to pitch in and ended up never leaving. I fell in love with the industry and decided that this is where I could make my biggest impact, says Trenbeath.
Snelling is a full-service staffing agency with a passion for helping employers find the right employees in two key areas: career placement and temporary workers. Its niche is predominantly small to medium-sized businesses located in Richland, Lexington Counties, as well as Lee and Calhoun counties.
We save employers time and money, says Trenbeath. Owners do not have the time to sift through scores of resumes generated by publishing a job opening in a newspaper or online. Snelling will do the reference and background checks on prospective employees and present the top three candidates. Snelling will also assist in finding temporary or temp-to-hire workers to serve a broad range of business needs ranging from administrative, executive secretary, information technology, accounting, manufacturing and distribution, among others.
The local landscape for staffing companies has changed dramatically over the years, but Snelling has remained with an experienced staff that consistently delivers the best candidates to its customers and within their budget.
We always look to deliver results with staffing expertise that connects people and businesses with the power to thrive, which is our motto, says Trenbeath. Snelling is a company that has a tradition of giving back to the local community it serves. Following in Gina’s footsteps, Elizabeth has found countless ways to give her time to local Chambers and recently was the President of the local Kiwanis Club of Lexington. She was named to The State newspaper’s Top 20 Under 40 in 2005.
People understand our passion for the business community, says Trenbeath. They know that when they deal with Snelling, decisions will be made at the local level.
Snelling has two locations in the Midlands. In 2004, in order to better serve the needs of its growing customer base, it opened a second location in Northeast Columbia on North Trenholm Road and its main office is in Lexington.
What makes all of us most proud is helping someone find a job, a career, says Trenbeath. What greater reward could there be in business than seeing the joy on
someone’s face when one finds a job that he likes.
