Sniff, swirl, sip and support wildlife conservation

February 1, 2017

Tickets are now on sale for Riverbanks’ popular spring fundraiser. Wine Tasting at Riverbanks Botanical Garden will take place on Friday, April 28, from 7:00pm-9:30pm.

Hosted by Riverbanks Society, the palate-pleasing experience also is made possible by First Citizens Bank and Colonial Life. Guests can choose to sample from more than 100 varieties of domestic and imported wine while savoring the seasonal sights of one of America’s best public gardens. In addition, for those who prefer hops to grapes, an assortment of select micro-brews will be available for tasting.

Guests also will enjoy a mouthwatering selection of featured fare from some of Columbia’s finest restaurants and caterers. New to the menu this year are Spotted Salamander and Whole Foods Catering. Returning favorites include Hudson’s Smokehouse BBQ, Liberty Tap Room, The Melting Pot, Pearlz Oyster Bar and Riverbanks’ Events and Hospitality. Live jazz by Jamie Beresford will complement the evening.

A limited number of tickets are available for the sell-out event. Tickets should be purchased in advance online. Advance prices are $50 for Riverbanks’ members and $60 for the general public.

Riverbanks Zoo and Garden encourages responsible drinking. Proper photo identification is required, and no one under the age of 21 will be permitted. To ensure the safety of our guests, Riverbanks will pay the first $10 of cab fares to hotels and residences in Richland and Lexington counties.

Wine Tasting will take place rain or shine. Parking and entry to the event will be available on the Botanical Garden side only at 1300 Botanical Parkway in West Columbia.
