Society of Industrial and Office Realtors® elects William Burgess, SIOR, as Regional Director

Bill Burgess, SIOR, principal with the Burgess Company in Greenville, S.C., was recently elected to serve a two-year term as the SOCIETY OF INDUSTRIAL AND OFFICE REALTORS® (SIOR) Regional Director, Southeast Region. He will assume the position at SIOR’s CREate 360 conference in Nashville, Tenn. in October.
Burgess grew up in New England before moving to Greenville for college, and he has called the city home ever since. Bill founded The Burgess Company in 2009 after twenty-six years in the real estate industry, and also recently launched Smart Building Solutions, an AI prop-tech company that converts existing buildings to smart buildings.
Burgess joined SIOR in 1995 and has served in a number of roles for the organization, including serving as a member of the SIOR Carolinas Chapter, the SIOR Member Development and Retention Committee, the SIOR Investment Member Group Steering Committee, the SIOR Foundation Board of Trustees, and the SIOR Foundation Grants & Scholarship committee. He has also been an SIOR ethics education instructor, teaching both locally and nationally and has served on several strategic planning initiatives.
When he’s not in the office, Bill enjoys spending time with his family and building an impressive endurance sports résumé, including skiing the Klein Matterhorn, Adventure Racing, and running rim to rim of the Grand Canyon.
