South Carolina Department of Education headquarters earns 2026 Varco Pruden Hall of Fame Best of Category Award

Pyramid Contracting announced that the South Carolina Department of Education Headquarters has been recognized as a 2026 Varco Pruden Hall of Fame Best of Category Winner in the Conventional Category.

Presented annually by Varco Pruden Buildings, the Hall of Fame program recognizes outstanding projects that exemplify excellence in design, construction, innovation, and collaboration.

Receiving a Best of Category award places the South Carolina Department of Education Headquarters among the top projects recognized by Varco Pruden during the 2026 awards program.

Located in West Columbia, South Carolina, the new headquarters is a 151,000-square-foot, three-story Class A office building designed to support the South Carolina Department of Education’s mission of serving students, educators, and communities across the state. Completed in 2024, the facility provides a modern, efficient workplace that brings together departmental operations while supporting collaboration, functionality, and future growth.

The success of this project was driven by a shared commitment to quality and partnership from the entire project team. Pyramid Contracting worked closely with the South Carolina Department of Education, Studio 2LR, Varco Pruden, and numerous trade partners throughout the design and construction process to deliver a facility that meets the needs of one of South Carolina’s most important public agencies.

This recognition is especially meaningful because it reflects more than the completed building itself. It recognizes the teamwork, planning, craftsmanship, and execution required to bring a project of this scale and complexity to life.
