South Carolina Federal Credit Union has been named one of the 2020 Best Credit Unions to Work For by Credit Union Journal. South Carolina Federal ranked No. 6 overall and No. 2 among credit unions with over $1 billion in assets.
This program is designed to identify, recognize and honor credit unions that have excelled in creating quality workplaces for employees. The 2020 survey included questions about how each organization responded to COVID-19, which enabled employees to rank how well their credit union and its leadership adapted to the pandemic.
“We want our employees to love where they work. That’s why we offer exceptional benefits, invest in our team members’ growth and development and embody a culture of teamwork and positivity,” said Leslie Norris, senior vice president of human resources at South Carolina Federal. “This recognition is an incredible honor, and we’re proud to share it with such a great team of people.”
Credit Union Journal partnered with Best Companies Group to analyze and rank qualifying credit unions. First, organizations were evaluated on their workplace policies, practices and demographics. The second part of the evaluation process used employee surveys to assess the experiences and attitudes of individual employees with respect to their workplace. To be considered, credit unions must have at least 25 employees working in the U.S. and been in business a minimum of one year.
