September 5, 2014

COLUMBIA, SC –  The National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) has recognized South Carolina REALTOR® (SCR) Jane B. Locke, as one of 10 finalists for REALTOR® Magazine’s 2014 Good Neighbor Awards. The award honors Realtors® who help build communities, supporting causes that enrich and improve neighborhoods and volunteering their time to better the lives and homes of community members.

For more than 27 years, Locke, of Century 21 Properties Plus, LLC in Mt. Pleasant S.C. has been president on the board of Carolina Children’s Charity (CCC), an organization that helps families pay for medical costs arising from children’s birth defects.

She also runs the charity’s annual telethon, attends every fundraiser and has held every position in the charity. This year, Locke helped raise $433,000 for the charity and has awarded $3.7 million in grants to thousands of families.

In October, five winners will be selected from the 10 finalists. The winners will receive travel expenses to the next NAR conference, a $10,000 grant and national media exposure for their charity.

Realtors® put their heart and soul into where they live, work and play. Jane is a great example for all Realtors®,” said SCR CEO, Nick Kremydas.
