South Carolina Restaurant and Lodging Association to host annual Hospitality Leaders Golf Tournament

August 14, 2019

The South Carolina Restaurant and Lodging Association (SCRLA) will host its 2019 Hospitality Leaders Golf Tournament at the Dataw Island Golf Club on Monday, September 9.

Presented by US. Foods, all proceeds from the tournament benefit the South Carolina Restaurant and Lodging Education Foundation, the only charitable foundation in the state dedicated to building a strong, committed workforce for our industry through scholarships, school-to-career programs and professional development.

“We could not be more excited that its time again to tee it up for hospitality scholarships,” said John Durst, SCRLA President and CEO. “Lots of fun, networking and a world-class golf course are on the menu for our annual Hospitality Leaders Golf Tournament, and you are cordially invited to savor a fabulous experience on the links and at the 19th hole. Y’all come!”

As one of South Carolina’s premier golf communities, Dataw Island is home to two 18-hole golf courses, one of which is the Cotton Dike Course, where the tournament will be played. Designed by the ever artful hand of Tom Fazio, the golf course is built over terrain which was coaxed from the marshes by a series of dikes, intended to create more land for cotton fields during the great plantation days of Dataw Island.
