SOUTH CAROLINA SEVEN 2021 expedition nearing the Midlands
July 14, 2021Lieutenant Governor Pamela Evette talks from the trail
EDITORIAL NOTE: In this fourth of several short videos over the month of July, South Carolina leaders are briefly expounding on their experiences along the trail during the second annual SOUTH CAROLINA SEVEN (SC7) expedition.
The month-long SC7 expedition – primarily hiking, but also rafting, kayaking, and SCUBA diving – began in the Upstate, July 1, and will conclude in Charleston, July 30. Along the way, global expedition leader Tom Mullikin and other experts are showcasing the state’s seven geographic wonders explored and observed along a unique trek closely paralleling several hundred miles of the famed Palmetto Trail from the mountains to the sea.
In today’s “SC7 minute,” S.C. Lieutenant Governor Pamela S. Evette discusses what makes SC7 unique and why it is important to create greater awareness of both what our state has to offer in terms of its myriad “geographic wonders,” how we protect these wonders going forward, and why it is important to get out and hike.
