South Carolina Wildlife Federation calls for entries in 24th annual photo contest
September 30, 2026Shutterbugs, backyard naturalists, and outdoor enthusiasts across the Upstate have one month left to submit their finest shots of the Palmetto State’s wild side.
The South Carolina Wildlife Federation (SCWF) is actively accepting submissions for its 24th Annual Wildlife Photography Contest, spotlighting the state’s striking landscapes, native fauna, and coastal habitats. Submissions are open to photographers statewide through October 31.
From the Blue Ridge foothills to the Midlands and maritime marshes, the competition highlights South Carolina’s diverse natural beauty while advancing conservation awareness.
Among the highlighted divisions is the popular “Scenes of South Carolina” category, which invites participants to submit their favorite local landscape and habitat images. SCWF recently showcased several standout winning images from last year’s competition to inspire prospective entrants:
-
“Salt Serenity” by Stuart Barfield
-
“Red Knot Sunset Arrival” by Jenn Clementoni
-
“Mission Lake” by Bradley Wicker
Winning photographs regularly receive statewide visibility across SCWF publications, exhibitions, and digital channels, celebrating both the photographer’s eye and South Carolina’s natural heritage.
