Southeastern Freight Lines promotes Matt Smith to regional vice president of operations

Southeastern Freight Lines, the leading provider of regional less-than-truckload (LTL) transportation services, today announced Matt Smith has been promoted to regional vice president of operations for Region III, covering 18 facilities across Alabama, Florida, Georgia and South Carolina.

Since joining Southeastern in 2004, Smith has served in various leadership positions. During his most recent role as service center manager in Dalton, Georgia, his leadership helped in the promotion of 21 employees, four of whom now serve as service center managers.

“Matt has an excellent record in leadership development,” said Coley Campbell, vice president of service center operations for Southeastern. “We are confident he will continue his legacy of building a positive company culture in his new role and look forward to the guidance he will provide to the future managers of Southeastern.”

Smith graduated from Auburn University with a bachelor’s degree in logistics. Smith, his wife and children will relocate to Orlando, Florida shortly after the birth of their third child. The family is very excited about this new opportunity, and Smith looks forward to bringing his expertise to the region.
