COLUMBIA, SC – January 22, 2009 – The South Carolina Department of Commerce and Chester County today announced that Southeastern Petroleum will locate its new manufacturing facility in Chester County.  The approximately $30 million investment is expected to bring 24 new jobs to Chester County.

“We are pleased to locate our new oil recovery facility in Chester County.  South Carolina provides us with a positive business environment, offers a strong workforce and places us in an excellent community.  We appreciate all the support we’ve received from state and local officials, and we look forward to becoming a part of South Carolina’s business community,” said Luke Staengl, president of Pesco-Beam Environmental Solutions Inc.

Donald G. Burnette Sr. is the president of Southeastern Petroleum and is partnering with Pesco-Beam Environmental Solutions Inc. on this project to bring state-of-the-art technology to South Carolina. Southeastern Petroleum is a green manufacturer of base oils used in the production of lubricants.  The company expects to produce up to 10 million gallons annually from their new Chester County facility.  Pesco-Beam is also planning to create a research and development component at the location of the new facility.

“Southeastern Petroleum specializes in recycling used motor oil into base oils that are as good as or better than virgin base oils and diesel fuel.  By fostering a business-friendly climate and focusing on building a skilled workforce, South Carolina has the tools to attract new investments from companies like Southeastern Petroleum and this in turn means more job opportunities for workers in our state.  Thanks to the team efforts of state and local leaders, Southeastern Petroleum will be a welcomed member of our state’s business community,” said Joe Taylor, Secretary of Commerce.

“We welcome Southeastern Petroleum to Chester County and appreciate their decision to locate operations here. The company helps us diversify our business community and will bring new jobs to our residents. We are committed to working with new and existing businesses to create opportunities for our residents,” said Carlisle Roddey, County Supervisor of Chester County.
