Southwest Airlines begins daily nonstop flight to Baltimore/Washington International Airport (BWI)

Today, Southwest Airlines began new daily nonstop service from Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport (GSP) to Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI). Southwest offers the only nonstop service on the route, providing easy access to the nation’s capital region and connecting service to additional destinations from the airline’s BWI focus city.

Southwest’s new route to Baltimore/Washington provides Upstate travelers more flight options and another way to enjoy the airline’s low fares and quality service. Flights will operate daily on 143-seat Boeing 737-700 aircraft. The new route complements the airline’s existing service of three daily flights to Atlanta and provides greater connectivity to 20 additional cities within the Southwest network. Tickets for these flights can be purchased at Southwest.com  or by phone at 1-800-I-FLY-SWA.

Southwest’s flight departs GSP at 1:10 p.m. arriving in Baltimore at 2:40 p.m. Flights from Baltimore depart at 12:35 p.m. and arrive at GSP at 2:15 p.m.

“We are thrilled to have Southwest Airlines invest in the Greenville-Spartanburg market by bringing back its popular Baltimore route” said Dave Edwards, GSP’s president and CEO. “This type of commitment from Southwest is the result of the support shown by the community as more and more travelers choose GSP as their airport of choice.”
