Sowell Gray member Biff Sowell honored at Leadership In Law awards

Sowell Gray Stepp & Laffitte, LLC is pleased to announce Biff Sowell was honored at the South Carolina Lawyers Weekly’s 2016 Leadership in Law awards dinner held Thursday, March 10, 2016, in Charleston, South Carolina.

The Leadership in Law awards honor outstanding members of South Carolina’s legal community who work to better the legal profession through mentoring and involvement within their community. The honorees are professionals who consistently go above and beyond in their work.

“Our firm is incredibly proud that Biff has received this special recognition,” said managing member Cal Watson. “In addition to the success he has achieved in his practice, he has made many contributions to our community and the legal profession; it is fitting that he be honored for his leadership and service.”

Sowell is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates and a Life Fellow of the American Bar Foundation. He is a certified Circuit Court Mediator and former Chairman of the Dispute Resolution Section of the South Carolina Bar. He has served as Commissioner of Midlands Technical College, is a former member of the Midlands Technical College Foundation and has served on the Board of Directors of Communities in Schools in Columbia, South Carolina.

Sowell has consistently been recognized by Chambers U.S.A. America’s Leading Lawyers for Business, Best Lawyers in America® and South Carolina Lawyers Weekly Super Lawyers. He focuses his practice on commercial litigation, corporate counseling and dispute resolution.
