Spartanburg-based accounting firm Elliott & Painter names new Partners

Elliott & Painter Certified Public Accountants is delighted to share that Denise Smith, CPA, and Tammy Grice, CPA, have joined the Partner team. Smith came aboard as Partner following the firm’s acquisition of another practice in August 2022, while Grice advanced to her new role as Partner at Elliott & Painter starting January 1, 2023.

Denise Smith is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with more than 43 years of accounting, auditing, assurance, consulting, compliance, and taxation experience. With a primary focus on tax services, she works with clients in a variety of industries and closely held businesses, including manufacturing, wholesale distribution, professional service firms, not-for-profit entities, governmental, employee benefit plans, construction, and contractors. She has provided tax, compliance, and consulting services to individuals, not-for-profit entities, and other business-type entities and provides tax and compliance services for trusts and estates. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the South Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants (SCACPA).

Tammy Grice
Tammy Grice has worked in public accounting for nearly 30 years and has held the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation since 2000. She serves as the Audit, Accounting & Quality Control Partner at Elliott & Painter, using her expertise to grow and lead the Audit practice and provide a valuable service to clients. She specializes in nonprofit and government audits along with Yellow Book audits, working to uphold the standards for financial audits of organizations or entities that receive financial assistance from the federal government. She also handles small business audits, nonprofit and business reviews, and audits and reviews of contractors for licensing. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the South Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants (SCACPA).
