Spartanburg CVB honored by SportsEvents Magazine

December 12, 2016

SportsEvents Magazine named the Spartanburg Convention and Visitors Bureau as one of its 2017 Readers’ Choice Award winners.

The Spartanburg organization was nominated after sports event professionals chose destinations and sports venues they believed showed creativity and professionalism. This is the fourth time in the past five years Spartanburg has been honored.

“We are humbled to be selected again as a top sports destination by the readers of SportsEvents Magazine,” said Chris Jennings, Executive Vice President of the CVB. “This shows the power of working together with our local schools, sports clubs, parks departments and other DMOs to bring more tourism business to the Spartanburg.”

Spartanburg is home to the annual Carolina Panthers Training Camp presented by Lowe’s every August; the annual Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas; two Division I college athletic programs and scores of annual sports tournaments.

Based out of Alabama, SportsEvents is a publication focused on helping sports event planners select locations for major games and tournaments.
