Spartanburg hosts South Carolina Men’s Tennis Pro Challenger

August 27, 2015

SPARTANBURG, SC – Tennis fans can see pro players compete, attend clinics, and socialize with the pros Sept. 10 -13. The City of Spartanburg will sponsor the SC Men’s Tennis Pro Challenger at the Country Club of Spartanburg.

The tournament draws well-known professionals from the ATP Tour, and will combine world-class tennis with social activities, tennis instruction for junior players, and clinics for men, ladies, and juniors. Over the last 50 years, the tournament has benefited multiple charities, but this year will mark the first time the SC School for the Deaf and the Blind’s fundraising arm, The Walker Foundation, has been selected to receive the tournament proceeds.

Based in Spartanburg, the SC School for the Deaf and the Blind is the state’s only specialized school for students who are deaf or blind. It offers pre K-12 educational programs on its main campus in Spartanburg and specialized vision and hearing services in school districts and homes throughout the state.
