Spartanburg Water announces hiring of new Safety Manager

Spartanburg Water announced the hiring of Shawn Maguire as the new Safety Manager for Spartanburg Water. As the Safety Manager, Shawn will coordinate, manage and facilitate the development, implementation and maintenance of all Spartanburg Water System and Spartanburg Sanitary Sewer District safety programs. Her overall goals will center on promoting safe and healthy work practices for all employees, while ensuring all operations and activities are compliant with departmental, agency, state and federal regulations and guidelines.

Maguire comes to Spartanburg Water with 11 years of experience in Workers’ Compensation, Environmental Health and Safety (EHS), and risk management. She has an in-depth knowledge of construction and hardhat safety standards, experience in safety compliance and conduct, and holds multiple certifications in fire prevention, material handling, forklift, fall protection and OSHA 30. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from Hood College.
