Spirit Airlines Triples Service Between Florida and South Carolina

MIRANMAR, FL – February 28, 2008 – Spirit Airlines today announced the addition of new non-stop service to Columbia, South Carolina, as well as expanded service to Myrtle Beach with the introduction of  new service from Orlando.
 
New service between Spirit’s Fort Lauderdale home and Columbia, South Carolina will begin on May 22, 2008.

“We are thrilled to bring the first ultra low cost airline service to the Midlands of South Carolina,” said Mark Kopczak, Spirit’s Senior Director of Network Planning.   “In addition to non-stop service to our Fort Lauderdale gateway, this new service will provide the ideal opportunity for travelers to connect to over 20 destinations in the United States, Caribbean and Latin America.”

In addition, Spirit is adding new service between Orlando and Myrtle Beach, South Carolina beginning June 12, 2008.  This new service complements Spirit’s current service in Myrtle Beach making it the sixth non-stop market for the airline from Myrtle Beach.  This new service will also offer one stop, same-plane service to Fort Lauderdale, in addition to Spirit’s existing non-stop flights between Fort Lauderdale and Myrtle Beach.  “Spirit is proud to offer this new link between two of America’s premier vacation destinations,” Kopczak continued.
