October 15, 2023

As the holiday season approaches, the Laurens County Sheriff’s Office is gearing up for its annual Christmas for Kids Program. This initiative aims to brighten the lives of children in need during the holiday season.

Applications for the program will be available at the Sheriff’s Office front lobby starting Monday, October 30th, during regular business hours. The application process is simple and clearly outlined on the form.

Prospective participants do not need to bring anything to obtain an application; everything they need to know about the subsequent steps and interview process is provided on the application form. This streamlined approach ensures that families can easily access the assistance they require, making the holiday season a little more joyful for their children.

One of the key aspects of the Christmas for Kids Program is the incredible generosity and support of the community. Throughout the year, the program accepts new toys, which are vital for making the holiday season special for the children involved.

The most requested items include Hot Wheels Tracks & Cars, Barbies, Baby Dolls, & Accessories, Learning/Interactive Toys for infants to 3 years old, Board Games, Socks, sports items like bats and assorted balls, and Craft sets for boys and girls, including arts and DIY kits and the very popular Legos. Additionally, personal care items such as brushes, deodorant, body wash, shampoo, conditioner, and hair bows are highly appreciated.

The Laurens County Sheriff’s Office is grateful for the ongoing support and contributions from generous individuals and businesses across the county. These sponsors play a crucial role in making the Christmas for Kids Program a resounding success year after year.

Sheriff Don Reynolds expressed his enthusiasm and gratitude for the community’s involvement, saying, “The Christmas for Kids Program is a reflection of our community’s compassion for those in need. We are very grateful for the generosity of neighbors and local businesses, whose support allows us to bring smiles and happiness to the children who need it most during this special time of year.”

As the holiday season draws near, the Laurens County Sheriff’s Office is working to make sure they have another successful Christmas for Kids Program. The Sheriff’s Office extends heartfelt thanks to everyone involved, and encourages continued support to make this Christmas a memorable one for every child in need.
