Squealin’ on the Square is Back!

It’s finally fall and a weekend that everyone looks forward to is here. On Friday and Saturday, October 1 and 2nd the Square in Laurens is the place to be.

Squealing on the Square draws big crowds to downtown Laurens for food, vendors, music, competitions and much, more.

New for 2021 – there will be no Quepons (food tickets). All food and drink can be purchased with cash or credit cards.  Beer sales Friday 4-9:30 and Saturday 11 -10:30. Wristbands are available from participating restaurants or Main Street Laurens’ beer tent. Personal coolers are not permitted in the area.

Squealin’s newest event will showcase another favorite food – STEAK! This is in addition to the barbeque and other food available. Food vendors will be selling food Friday from 4-10 pm and Saturday from 9:30 am – 11 pm.

Carnival rides are back this year and there is something for everyone. The rides will be located in the lower grassy area behind United Community Bank and tickets and wristbands can be purchased in the Carnival area.  Rides include the kiddie Ferris wheel, mechanical bull, spinner, trackless train, inflatables and more.

Several competitions will take place on Saturday:

  • Laurens YMCA Run Hog Wild – 9 am
  • City of Laurens Cornhole Tournament (West Main Street) – 10 am
  • Pickle Eating Contest – (near main stage) – 11:30 am

The 4H Down on the Farm Petting Zoo and play area will be located in the upper grassy area behind United Community Bank. The area will include a petting zoo, farm play area, dog show (9 am), and rabbit show (9:30 am).

So much fun with something for everyone. While you’re walking around the square be sure to stop in the shops.
