Squirrel scavenger hunt invites young visitors to explore Laurens County Museum

The Laurens County Museum is giving young visitors a new reason to look closely at its exhibits.

Eight squirrels are hidden throughout the museum, and children are invited to track down every one of them as part of an ongoing scavenger hunt. The activity is designed to encourage kids to explore each corner of the museum while picking up pieces of Laurens County history along the way.

Visitors can pick up a scavenger hunt brochure at the museum. The brochure includes clues pointing to where each squirrel is hiding, along with a crossword puzzle to work through during the visit.

Museum staff encourage families to see whether their children can locate all eight squirrels before heading home.

Admission to the museum is free, and the scavenger hunt requires no advance registration. Families visiting with children of different ages can work through the hunt together, making it a good fit for group outings, homeschool families and grandparents looking for an afternoon activity close to home.
