“Speak” Focus of Book Clubs at Richland Library

As part of a statewide initiative on bringing attention to sexual assault and teen dating violence, Richland Library is teaming with Richland County Councilwoman Julie-Ann Dixon to host a series of book clubs, focusing on Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson. They will run through the end of April, which also marks Sexual Assault Awareness Month.

Local residents will be able to pick up a copy of Speak, which tells the story of a high school freshman who was raped and her healing process, and they can take part in book discussions at the following events:

  • 6 – 7 p.m., Tuesday, March 29 at Richland Library Sandhills
  • 6 – 7 p.m., Tuesday, April 12 at Richland Library Sandhills

You can also reserve the book or audio book online at richlandlibrary.com.

A panel discussion on sexual assault and teen dating violence will mark the final program 6 – 7:30 p.m., Thursday, April 28 at Richland Library Main.
