State Director of SC SBDC elected to national board of directors

COLUMBIA, SC – Michele Abraham, the state director of the South Carolina Small Business Development Centers, was recently elected to the board of directors for the national association of SBDCs. Elected by open vote of 63 state and regional directors, Abraham will serve a two-year term. The national board represents the collective interest of America’s SBDC members by promoting, informing, supporting and continuously improving the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) network, which delivers nationwide educational assistance to strengthen small and medium-sized businesses, which helps to grow local, state and national economies.

Seventeen South Carolina Small Business Development Centers (SC SBDC) across the state offer individual, confidential business consulting at no cost. Highly-trained consultants assist both existing and startup companies. Consultants provide a variety of services, including advisement on business plans, fiscal and operations management, financing options, marketing strategies, human resources and much more. Centers conduct affordable education workshops and provide referrals to useful business resources. Specialized services include government contracting, exporting, technology commercialization, veterans business assistance and minority outreach.
