State Museum Opens for the Fourth of July

COLUMBIA, SC – The South Carolina State Museum will be open on the Fourth of July and will operate under its normal business hours from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Beat the heat and bring the entire family out to experience Dinosaurs: A Bite of TimeFrom robotic dinosaurs and creatures to hands on activities, the exhibit is a roaring good time for guests of all ages. Some of the most well-known dinosaurs, including Tyrannosaurus rex, Triceratops and Stegosaurus, as well as less familiar creatures such asTenontosaurus and Pachycephalosaurus are featured in the exhibit.  Take home a piece of prehistoric history by shopping in the museum’s Dinosaur store or by having a souvenir photo taken with a life-like Triceratops.

$1 Sunday at the State Museum

This Sunday, July 6, general admission to the South Carolina State Museum is only $1 for guests. Included in general admission, guests can experience the museum’s permanent galleries, as well as the new fossil exhibit, South Carolina Unearthed.  Click here to plan your visit.

About the South Carolina State Museum: On Oct. 29, 1988, the South Carolina State Museum opened its doors, bringing to the citizens of the Palmetto State the newest, and one of the finest, state museums in America.
