State Museum to Host An Enchanted Tea Party

December 12, 2019

Exciting new holiday event to feature debut of new 4D experience, Fri., Dec. 27

The State Museum excited to present An Enchanted Tea Party, a magical new holiday event sure to spark young guests’ imagination from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m., Friday, Dec. 27. During the event, sponsored by Cool Care Heating and Air, guests will see the exclusive museum debut of Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer 4D Experience, meet Anna and Elsa from Disney’s Frozen, get spellbound in a magic show, enjoy crafts, enchanted activities and more.

Guests will enjoy light snacks and refreshments like enchanted tea and hot chocolate topped off with subzero marshmallows, while meeting Anna and Elsa from Disney’s Frozen.

Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer 4D Experience will debut exclusively for guests of the tea party. While watching the holiday classic, guests can feel the wind in their face as Rudolph flies through the sky and smell Christmas trees and cookies when at Santa’s castle. Perhaps the most enchanting part of the experience, however, is the snow that falls inside of the theater, leaving guests ready for more holiday fun.

Tea party goers will also get to experience Perseus and Andromeda a planetarium laser show. This 20-minute laser cartoon tells the story behind the constellations of Perseus and Andromeda. The epic tale of Perseus, the hero and his daring rescue of Princess Andromeda, is illustrated with laser graphics in this light-hearted telling of the Greek myth that all kids will enjoy.

“We love giving families the opportunity to celebrate the holidays and create new family traditions here at the State Museum,” said Lydia Salias, State Museum programs manager. “An Enchanted Tea Party is the perfect holiday occasion for families to get out of the house and enjoy the remainder of the holidays with fascinating family fun.”

Kids of all ages will be captivated by hands-on creation stations and get spellbound by a new Let it Snow Magic Show and enjoy face painting with South Carolina’s Fairy Godmother, Sarah Dippity.

Costumes are highly encouraged. Frozen Party tickets are $12 per person and $9 for museum members. Space is limited, advance ticket purchase is recommended by visiting scmuseum.org or by calling (803) 898-4999.
