November 13, 2017

Choose Well announced Angela Olawsky, RN, MPH, CPM has been named deputy director. Coming to the position from South Carolina Department of Health & Environmental Control (DHEC), she brings more than 33 years of successful public health leadership and clinical nursing to the Choose Well team.

As the state director of nursing for DHEC since 2010, Angela provided leadership and oversight for nursing service delivery across South Carolina. Prior to that, she spent more than 25 years in multiple roles at DHEC, ranging from associate state director of nursing to public health nurse supervisor. She also served on state committees, including the SC Board of Nursing Practice and Standards Committee.

Angela has a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Clemson University and a master’s degree in public health administration from the University of South Carolina.

“Angela’s success building multi-disciplinary teams over her career and progressive leadership in clinical practice transformations make her a natural choice for the Choose Well deputy directorship,” said Bonnie Kapp, executive director of New Morning Foundation, Choose Well’s parent organization. “We are excited to have her join us. Her guidance and intimate knowledge of clinical best practices will be invaluable as we expand Choose Well and look to improve life for many South Carolinians.”
