Steer It and Clear It Safety Campaign

September 18, 2021

Sometimes the most minor auto accidents can cause significant traffic jams. If you’ve ever sat in bumper to bumper traffic for hours on the interstate only to find that the incident causing the backup appears to be a minor collision, then you know what we’re talking about.

South Carolina Department of Public Safety wants to minimize traffic jams and the possibility of secondary collisions.

If you’re involved in a minor collision with no injuries, moving your vehicle out of the way not only helps with traffic flow and preventing secondary collisions — it’s also the law in South Carolina. So remember, if you’re in a collision with no injuries: Steer it and clear it.
