Step Into History: Musgrove Mill Seeks Part-Time Assistant Ranger to Join Park Team

Are you a history buff who loves the outdoors? Here’s your chance to step into the story of the American Revolution—right here in Laurens County. The Battle of Musgrove Mill State Historic Site is now accepting applications for a part-time Assistant Ranger position, offering a unique opportunity to work where history was made.

Nestled in the scenic landscape of Clinton, SC, this historic site preserves the grounds of the pivotal 1780 Revolutionary War battle. It’s a place where visitors from near and far come to learn, hike, and connect with the past—and now you can help bring that story to life.

The Assistant Ranger will play an important role in the day-to-day operations of the park. Weekend and holiday availability is required. Responsibilities include:

  • Performing routine maintenance on park grounds, buildings, and equipment

  • Assisting with upkeep of trails, landscaping, and custodial duties

  • Supporting retail operations in the Visitor Center

  • Helping interpret and share the rich historic and natural resources of the park with guests

Applicants must be able to pass training certification for chainsaw use and demonstrate general maintenance abilities.

A complete job description will be available at the park’s Visitor Center on Friday, June 13, and Saturday, June 14, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Applications will be accepted in person during those times.
