Stephanie Le named 2017 Resident Physician of the Year

COLUMBIA, SC – Stephanie Le, M.D., general psychiatry resident physician, was named the 2017 Palmetto Health Resident Physician of the Year at the annual medical and dental resident physician’s graduation.

The award recognizes resident physicians’ medical knowledge and abilities, as well as their commitment to Palmetto Health’s values of compassion, dignity, excellence, integrity and teamwork. Le received a plaque, a certificate and $2,500.

Le completed her fourth year of training in general psychiatry, and will begin training in the Palmetto Health-University of South Carolina School of Medicine Forensic Psychiatry Fellowship program. She was nominated by Craig Stuck, M.D., program director for the General Psychiatry Residency program, and was chosen by the Richland Memorial Hospital Board of Trustees.

Six other residents nominated for the award include Kari-Claudia Allen, M.D., Family Medicine Residency; Rebecca Burnside, M.D., Internal Medicine Residency; Carrye Daum, M.D., Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency; James Fallin, M.D., Emergency Medicine Residency; and Michael Tjahjadi, M.D., Pediatrics Residency. Each nominee received a certificate of recognition and a $250 cash award.
