Stewart Jones, Former SC House District 14 Representative, Endorses Rick Shealy for SC House Seat

April 29, 2026

Stewart Jones, who served six years as South Carolina House District 14 Representative and built a record of unwavering commitment to limited government and constitutional principles, has thrown his full support behind Rick Shealy in the June 9 Republican primary for the District 14 seat.

Jones served in the South Carolina State House without ever once voting for a pay increase, a tax increase, or against the Constitution — a record he describes as rooted in a singular focus: restoring government to its limited and rightful purpose. Now, he says Rick Shealy is the candidate who can continue that fight.

Having known Shealy for more than 12 years, Jones says his endorsement is grounded not only in shared principles but in personal knowledge of the man behind the campaign. He describes Shealy as a man of principle and honor whose integrity in private life mirrors the values he is bringing to this race.

“It was never about me. It’s always been about restoring government back to its limited purpose — defending and advancing the cause of liberty,” Jones said. “In these times, we need people like Rick Shealy who can help bring the focus back to the foundational purposes for which government exists.”

Among Jones’ proudest achievements during his tenure were helping stop a vaccine mandate, advancing pro-life legislation, and defending the Bill of Rights. He is confident Shealy has both the character and the conviction to build on that foundation.

Shealy brings to the race a record as a successful businessman, an eighth-generation South Carolinian, and a working farmer — credentials Jones says speak directly to the values and needs of District 14 constituents. Shealy has made lowering property taxes, fixing the roads, reining in government spending, and refocusing government on its core responsibilities the centerpiece of his campaign.

“As an eighth-generation South Carolinian and farmer, Rick is committed to preserving and defending our way of life and what truly makes us great,” Jones said. “It’s for these reasons; I am proud to endorse Rick Shealy for SC House 14 and hope you will support him too.”

Voters in House District 14 are encouraged to cast their ballots in the June 9 primary. Early voting is available May 26 through June 5, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Laurens County Voter Registration and Elections Office, 105 Bolt Drive, Laurens, SC 29360.
