Stewart McKenzie Joins SCRA’s SC Launch!® As Midlands Zone Manager

CHARLESTON, SC – July 08, 2008 – SCRA announced today the appointment of Stewart K. McKenzie as SC Launch! Midlands Zone Manager. New to SCRA, Stewart is a specialty chemicals and technology business development specialist. Stewart most recently served as Director of Business Development, Nanotechnology and Energy Systems, at Columbian Chemicals Company in Marietta, Georgia. While there, he was responsible for developing the overall commercialization strategy, marketing, sales, and the establishment of new business entities. Stewart is active in the US Fuel Cell Counsel as the Chair of the Education and Marketing Work Group and is a member of both the Executive and Strategy committees.
His professional background includes more than 24 years of experience in specialty chemicals and technology business development, marketing and competitive intelligence, chemical engineering and strategic planning in diverse, technology-based, high-growth markets. He is well-versed with international business in both Europe and Asia and has experience with the SBIR program as well as government subcontracting.
In his new role as SC Launch! Midlands Zone Manager, his duties will encompass relationship management with SC Launch! client companies, due diligence with program applicants and collaboration with Midlands colleges and universities, program partners and economic development organizations. Stewart’s broad range of experience will be invaluable to SC Launch! companies.
Stewart earned a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Queens University in Charlotte, North Carolina. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from The University of Kentucky.
