Studio 2LR, Inc. Architecture + Interiors earns four AIA Greater Columbia Section Design Awards

Studio 2LR, an architecture and interior design firm with an emphasis on contemporary design, recently earned four design awards from the American Institute of Architects, Greater Columbia Section (AIAGC).

Studio 2LR Principals Wes Lyles, AIA, LEED AP, Tripp Riley, AIA, Gretchen Lambert, AIA, Interior Designer Katie Riley, NCIDQ, IIDA, LEED AP and Cory Byrd, Associate AIA accepted the awards at the 2016 AIAGC Design Awards Reception held in Columbia, SC on October 13, 2016.

Adluh Flour, located in the Vista in Columbia, SC, received the Adaptive Reuse Honor Award. The Adluh Flour building is a two-story brick building constructed ca. 1910. The existing wood roof trusses and floor joists remain and are visible aesthetic elements along with the exterior brick walls in the individual tenant spaces.

The War Mouth, located in the Cottontown neighborhood, received the Adaptive Reuse Citation Award. The building, located at 1209 Franklin Street originally housed welding and auto-repair shops. The War Mouth is an exciting new bar and restaurant specializing in barbeque and upscale southern food.

Pout | Boutique Retail & Beauty Shop, located in Columbia, SC, received an Honor Award. This unique project transformed two separate retail storefronts into one unified, upscale brand with two related functions: a cosmetic retail area and a makeup bar offering skin treatment services.

Devro, located in Sandy Run, SC, received a Citation Award. Devro is a multinational company headquartered in Scotland which manufactures and distributes products derived from collagen such as edible casings, non-edible casings, films, and plastics. Studio 2LR worked with Devro to design a new 110,000 SF manufacturing facility which incorporates the latest manufacturing technology.
