Super Lawyers recognizes two Morton & Gettys attorneys in 2020

ROCK HILL, S.C. – Super Lawyers has recognized two attorneys with the Rock Hill firm of Morton & Gettys for 2020.

Bev Carroll has been named a Super Lawyer in the area of employment and labor law in the Rock Hill area, while Elizabeth Smith Owen has again been named a Rising Star in the area of family law.

Bev Carroll is the current president of the South Carolina Bar, having held several other leadership positions with the Bar over the years.

Elizabeth Smith Owen, a partner with Morton & Gettys, is an experienced divorce lawyer who represents clients in cases involving such issues as child custody, child support, alimony and spousal support, visitation, adoption, and prenuptial agreements.

The Super Lawyers selection process starts with peer nominations, followed by independent research that assesses lawyers in 12 areas. Evaluations from colleagues in the same practice areas also are included.

The Rising Stars designation is used to recognize lawyers who are either younger than 40 or who have been practicing for 10 years or less.
