Black Philanthropy Month — TENacity: Making Equity Real
Black Philanthropy Month is a national, coordinated effort to celebrate African American and African-descent giving in all its forms. In celebration of the initiative’s 10th anniversary, this year’s theme, TENacity: Making Equity Real, seeks to inform, involve, inspire and invest in Black philanthropic leadership to strengthen African American and African-descent giving. Founded in 2011 by Dr. Jackie Copeland-Carson and Pan-African Women’s Philanthropy Network, Black Philanthropy Month encompasses self-organized events, community dialogue and charitable giving across the nation. Community members can follow the national conversation via social media by following #BPM2021 and learn more about ways to celebrate at www.blackphilanthropymonth.com.

Promoting the Voices of Black Philanthropy in the Midlands
During the month of August, the Community Foundation is sharing stories of Black philanthropic impact on the Midlands. Each Thursday, Foundation staff members interview Black philanthropists and Black-led and Black-benefiting nonprofits to share their philanthropic story. Community members can watch the live interviews each Thursday in August at noon. More details can be found at www.yourfoundation.org/bpm.
