Support for Local Diaper Drives Grows – Fourth Diaper Drop Location Announced

October 12, 2022

The first Diaper Drive in Laurens County was a big success and interest in supporting the initiative continues to grow.

Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices C. Dan Joyner Realtors in Clinton has announced they will be a “diaper drop” location.

“We just love this,” said realtor Susan Tallman.  “This initiative – doing something for others in the community, is what makes our community great. We are so happy to be a Diaper Drop location and hope to have many people stop by to donate a pack of diapers.”

The initiative launched last month with the partnership between Westminster Presbyterian Church (WPC) in Clinton Carolina Pregnancy Center (CPC) in Spartanburg to provide “Diaper Drives” in Laurens County.

The first Diaper Drive was held in Clinton on Monday, October 3 in the Victory Worship Center parking lot (intersection of Highway 76 E and Springdale Drive).

First Baptist Church in Laurens is also participating and will host the next Diaper Drive in Laurens on Monday, October 24 from 10 am – 12 pm in their parking lot. CPC will be onsite with their mobile unit providing free ultrasounds or pregnancy testing as needed.

Want to support this effort? Here’s how.

Diapers of all sizes, pull ups, and wipes (new and unopened) are needed to fulfill the needs of the scheduled Diaper Drives.  If purchasing diapers to contribute, please try to get gender neutral if possible.

Donations are now being accepted at three Diaper Drop locations:

  • Sadler Hughes Apothecary (102 Jacobs Hwy, Clinton) Monday-Friday 8:30-7:00 and Saturday, 8:30-4:00
  • Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices C. Dan Joyner Realtors (202 W. Main Street, Clinton)
  • Courthouse Coffee (124 E. Public Sq., Laurens) Monday-Friday 7:00 – 4:00 and Saturday, 8:00 – 2:00
  • Family Promise (205 Church St., Laurens) Monday-Thursday 8:30am-5pm and 8:30-12 on Friday

Distribution will be limited to one pack of diapers and wipes per child with a max of two children per household. Parents will be required to show personal identification and provide the child’s name and verification of custody/birth.  Appropriate identification includes parent or guardian photo id (a copy will be made) and could be one of the following to show verification of custody: birth certificate, WIC, or Medicaid card for child, foster care/custody paperwork, daycare/school ID.

Additional Diaper Drives will be scheduled, and the dates and locations will be announced in advance.
