COLUMBIA, SC – The Nickelodeon Theatre, South Carolina’s only non-profit art house film theater at 1607 Main Street, will raise funds for its Helen Hill Media Education Center (HHMEC) through a fundraiser at The War Mouth. The public is invited to attend.

WHEN: Monday, December 5, 2016.

WHERE: The War Mouth, 1209 Franklin St., Columbia.

MORE: Attendees will enjoy food, drink, music and a silent auction. Media education and Nick staff will talk about the organization’s education success stories and plans for the media education center’s future.

“Since it opened in 2012, the Helen Hill Media Education Center has grown from offering two programs to offering six education programs today,” said Seth Gadsden, managing director of the Nickelodeon Theatre. “The education center served over 300 students and worked with over 20 local artists in our media education programs last year. We see media literacy as essential for today’s students and have exciting plans for the center’s future.”

Fundraiser tickets are $40 each and are available at nickelodeon.org. This event is sponsored by John and Nancy Freeman with support from Mike and Julie Brenan.
