February 2, 2016

The Coker College Alumni Association has announced that Susanne Watts Liggett ’02 is the recipient of the 2015 Outstanding Young Alumni Award.

This prestigious award is presented annually to a Coker College graduate of the past 20 years who has already made significant achievements in his or her chosen profession and who shows exceptional potential for future accomplishments. Nominees are evaluated based on professional accomplishments, personal development (research, writing or graduate work), community involvement (in church, school or local organizations) and/or service to Coker College.

Liggett, a high school English teacher, will be presented with the award on Feb. 6, 2016, in the Harris E. and Louise H. DeLoach Center during halftime of the women’s basketball game that begins at 2:00 p.m. The award presentation is a part of Coker College’s 2016 Homecoming celebrations.

“The CCAA board selected Susanne as an Outstanding Young Alumna because she more than fulfilled the criteria in her commitment to her profession, her personal development, her community and to Coker College,” said Carol Atkinson ’73, president of the Coker College Alumni Association.

In 2002, Liggett graduated with a double major in English and Communication.
