SWU Students Thank Legislators

COLUMBIA, SC – May 7, 2009 – Students from Southern Wesleyan University traveled to Columbia to thank their legislators on April 22. The students expressed their appreciation to the S.C. General Assembly for the S.C. Higher Education Tuition Grants Program and other student financial aid programs.

South Carolina Independent Colleges and Universities, a nonprofit organization, sponsored the event. Southern Wesleyan University students participating were Moriah Sears, a psychology and English major from Elgin; Zack Adams, a business administration major from Easley; Travis Eiler, a business administration major from Myrtle Beach; Nicholas Lagroone, a physical education major from Ninety Six; Emily Medders, a math education major from Clemson; and Carissa McNab, a religion major from Columbia. The students toured the State House and watched the state House of Representatives and Senate in action.
